LATE NIGHT DRIVING-DOWNTOWN!


Working a Cab downtown at night can be quite interesting. The drunk, cocky, arrogant pedestians of the night life. When you drive a cab downtown Austin Texas, street signs, cross walks DO NOT APPLY. There are policeman, standing on corners, acting like on-edge gung-ho macho patrolman, who could care less about the people, breaking the laws or even their safety. I thought Jay-Walking was a fine.(NOT IN AUSTIN). People walk right in front of you on a green light with no regards for their own safety. You HONK.... they give you the finger... and always say "Fuck You Cab Driver!". They are extremely impressed with themselves. Even impressing their friends.....WOW. This kind of behavior will never change unless someone gets run over and killed. Is this what it is going to take? (I AM NOT VOLUNTEERING!) The funniest thing about working the late shift, people disrepect the Cabs all night long, but when the Bars close, we are their best friends. (HEY BUDDY>>>HEY PAL>>>CAN I GET A RIDE?>>>) let's not forget.....I'll Tip you! Who cares! A tip ain't shit. It goes towards the fees and gas we pay.
At night I am very selective. I have Limo tinted windows on my Towne Car Taxi. Nobody can see inside my Cab. I drive around and look for the quiet, composed person or people. If the person or party of people have to much energy.....I mean running out in the streets, jumping up and down, throwing shit in the road to stop me........I KEEP DRIVING! I don't care what age or color the person is......I DON'T WANT THE ENERGY IN MY CAR. How hard is it to stay composed and stop acting like that was your first time out in the public. If you can't handle you liquer....DON'T DRINK>>>DUH!!!!!
